My BABY brother!!

I can't even begin to explain all the emotions I am experiencing right now!
My little brother has been gone for the past 2 years serving a mission in the Dominican Republic, and tomorrow he comes home!!!
It is beyond crazy to me that it has been 2 years! In some ways it feels like he has been gone for longer,
and in other ways it seems like just yesterday I was bawling my eyes out saying goodbye
to him!
At this time tomorrow night I will be at the airport anxiously awaiting him to step off the plane!
I am so proud of him and he truly is such a great example to me and my family. Taylor Swift has a song
in which she mentions her brother, she says " God smiles on my little brother, inside and out, he's better than I am."
Those words could not be more true for me. I love him to the end of the world and back and I cannot wait to hug him and hold him tight again!

So many locations!

Today I took my son on his first bike ride of the season and I honestly don't
he could have been any happier than in that moment!
The moment where I couldn't have been any happier was when I decided to loosen up his training wheels to the point of not even having them and what happened?? He took off!!!
Oh my gosh I am such a proud mommy! He rode off as if he had no idea i had changed anything! So its official, as soon as the snow is all gone and i can get him on some grass, the training wheels are coming off!!
So of course as soon as I told him that if he learns how to ride on just two wheels that we will take longer bike rides he went crazy with all the places he wanted to go.
So of course, parks are number one on the list but coming in a close second is the Falafel hut which
couldn't make me any happier :) He also wants to ride to the river to feed the ducks, go get ice cream and ride all over town with his friends and aunties!

Ready, Set, Peddle!!

Today is a very exciting day for us here in our little home. I made my way to the storage unit and retrieved my 4 year olds bike and the look on his face was PRICELESS!
And he wasn't the only lucky one! Today I got a new bike AND a new bike trailer! WOO HOO!
I can't wait to take it out for a spin!
This gets me so excited to ride all over town, go to the park, the farmers market and my favorite thing..FALAFEL!!

It has been so nice and warm the last few days and the snow is melting at a serious rapid rate and I LOVE it!
This summer I have vowed to get more active outside and use our bikes as much as possible! Not only will it be lots of fun BUT it will give me a great source of exercise! I love when I can kill two birds with one stone!
Here's to a good nights rest so that I can wake up early and go for a ride!

feeling crafty

Today while thinking what I was going to do with myself, I thought maybe I should do something productive.
I have wanted to make some of these for a quite some time and this is a better time than ever considering a few of my friends are having baby girls. Who knows, maybe if they are loved enough I could sell them?
I made some adorable little headbands, and I am quite proud if I do say so myself!
Here are some that I made :)

I had to use a doll as a model because there is no way I was
going to force my little boy to model for me ! haha :)

Back in the Saddle Again

It's been way too long since I have done a bit of blogging and I have been up to quite a bit and I think it's time I share.
It's "spring" time here and I am anxiously waiting for summer to seriously hit!
The last part of winter went by slower than I was hoping but the end is in sight.
We had a wonderful Christmas and a great new years and have celebrated quite a few birthdays.

My little boy is now 4 years old and crazier than ever. Whoever said that the terrible twos were the worst lied. I love him but boy does he know how to press my buttons!

I have multiple friends that are pregnant and multiple friends that have just had little ones. Makes my baby fever go up to an all time high!

My husband is working hard as hard can be and while its hard for all of us to be apart, I try to remember how lucky we are.

This summer we have lots of fun plans and hopefully some bigger ones will be able to come true!!

Tis The Season For Love

Early Thursday morning I got to pick up my husband and bring him home :) The next morning my mom brought our son to our house to surprise him with daddy being home. What followed was the cutest reaction I could have asked for. My husband hid around the corner while I opened the door and hit record. My son came in and threw off his hat and gloves and immediately asked where his "prize" was. I of course played dumb and asked him what prize? He just says, my prize? I tell him to take a look around, he looks towards the kitchen and out my husband jumps. Our son halfway scared in total shock stares for a few seconds and then his face changes and a big smile cracks from ear to ear. The smile was heart melting and right away he released a high pitch scream and proceeds to throw himself on the ground with excitement.

Since the excitement of his dad's return, it has been non-stop happiness for both of them. My husband and son have such a great relationship and every day I am so grateful that I have such an amazing husband who is the best dad in the whole world. My son worships his daddy. There is nothing that I love more than to watch my boys play. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful little family. I can't wait to someday have more children and have our family grow.  Until then, I will cherish every moment I have with my husband and son and thank everything I believe in that I have what I have.

A wonderful woman

Today we got to celebrate a wonderful day of birth to one of the most amazing women I know. My mom. I think that I am quite lucky to have such an amazing relationship with my mom. Throughout my life I have never been scared to share a story with her. While she is my mom and I always respected her, I always considered her to be a good friend as well. In high school most teens skipped school to hang out and do things that their parents wouldn't approve of, I skipped school and went home and hung out with my mom. Over the years our friendship has grown stronger and stronger. When people make comments saying that I am just like her, I am proud.  If there is one woman that I aspire to be, it would be my mother. While she is not perfect, she strives to be each and every day. She has always balanced her ability to be a parent and adult. Her emotions almost always in check.
I remember when we would argue, things would get heated but just moments later we were able to make up and continue on without skipping a beat. That is a trait I truly try to take on. I wouldn't be lying if I said that I truly believe that I have one of best moms thats ever been.
The point of this post I guess is to give thanks to my mother. The woman who chose to have me. She chose to care for me in the hardest of times, love me in the roughest times and cry with me in the saddest times. I am one lucky daughter. I'll love you forever,  I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living,  my mommy you'll be.
